Dr. Gabriela Zugravu

Dr. Gabriela Elisabeta Zugravu is a senior physician in anaesthesia and intensive care with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She is part of the multidisciplinary surgical team caring for patients with complex endometriosis at Memorial Băneasa in Bucharest and has previously held senior and coordinating roles in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Sf. Ioan Emergency Clinical Hospital.

Her professional training includes locoregional anaesthesia, difficult-airway management and bronchoscopy. She is a member of Romanian and European professional societies in anaesthesiology and intensive care and has also contributed to scientific work in pharmacology.

Complex endometriosis surgery presents a particular challenge for the anaesthesia team. Procedures can be lengthy and may involve several surgical specialties, extensive pelvic dissection and bowel or urinary tract surgery. The anaesthesiologist therefore plays a central role not only during the operation, but also in perioperative risk assessment, pain control, physiological stability and the conditions for safe postoperative recovery.
